We have now entered the second month of Spring and P2 have been very busy engaging in springtime learning activities outdoors as part of our Play Based Learning.
We have been:
- Weeding our raised beds in preparation for planting our vegetables. This has required a lot of physical effort and fantastic teamwork.
- Litter picking - the girls and boys are good at putting their rubbish in the bin but sometimes the birds bring the rubbish out and leave it scattered on the ground.
- Raking up the grass and lifting it using the litter pickers.
- Learning how to balance, push and tip a large wheelbarrow full of weeds and grass.
- Planting flowers.
- Reading outdoors in our newly refurbished outdoor kitchen / reading corner.
- Learning new throwing, catching and hitting skills as part of our PE curriculum
- Getting outside more to “cook” in our outdoor kitchen. We have been making delicious “soups” etc.
- Having outdoor picnics.
