Farming Topic Work in P2
We have been doing lots of active hands-on learning as part of our farming topic work.
- We designed and built farm models from Mobilo and photographed them using the ipad.
- We assembled and played with the toy farm.
- We drew farm pictures on the Interactive Whiteboard.
- We had a visit from Mrs Mullen. She brought in a pet lamb and we got to touch and feed it.
- We designed and made a farm animal or a piece of farm machinery from junk.
- We have been weeding and preparing our raised beds for planting in spring.
- Mrs McClure came into school and taught us all about the role of the farm vet. (More photos to follow).
- The two Mr McRoberts came into school with two New Holland tractors, a plough and a seeder and they gave us a demonstration of how they work. We all got to climb up into one of the tractors. (More photos to follow).
